TREEHOUSE

The weekend before Josh left to go out of town we went to The Treehouse. It is this really neat place in Ogden. Chloee loves it so much that we bought a membership there. There are so many fun things to do there. Here are just a few pics of what we did.

There is this little theater place where the kids can put on play clothes and do plays. It is so cute! I loved this picture of her in this dress.

The king and his princess in the royal chairs.

This chess set is huge. Chloee whooped Daddy in their game of chess.

If Chlo were the president!

This big chair reads you stories. Kind of creepy and cool, all at the same time.

Chlo sure was at home here with this kitchen set. I love the old fridge.

Grandma Kathy will be so proud to see this. Chloee is our little nurse. Jury is still out on whether or not she'll be that nice to our baby when she comes.

This slide is PITCH BLACK and all the kids are so scared to go down it. This is how Chloee ended up, head first. All kids get twisted around in that thing.

The FAMOUS fire truck. This is right at the first when you walk in. They can put on the hats and the coats. She loves this place.

Now when people come visit, we'll have to for sure go to The Treehouse. Amy, your kids would LOVE it there. Lots of fun!

Early Labor

I swear I was going to go into early labor these last few days.  Rest assured, I am not.  Josh left for Ohio on Tuesday which stunk, and was supposed to get home late last night.  I spent the 4 days up at my Mom & Dad's.  I also had a doctor appointment, NO, I don't have gestational sugar diabetes, whewwww!  I was borderline with Chloee so I'm glad it came back good.

I really wanted to come home yesterday, so I did, in what we thought was going to be the break of the storm, in the morning.  Well, over 2 hours later, slipping, sliding, the CANYON FROM HELL, frozen windshield wipers and a screaming 2 year old, I made it home.  Let's just say that it was REALLY bad and LOTS of wrecks.  I swear I don't want to travel anywhere for a month.  Blah!

To top it off, Josh's flight was delayed.  He was stuck on the plane for a couple of hours.  His flight was supposed to get in about 10:45 pm but didn't land until 12:30 am.  Then of course the line for the baggage was a mile long and it wasn't even running.  By the time he got his luggage and drove home with all the ice on the roads, in the car, mind you, he stumbled in at 2:30 am.  I couldn't sleep the entire time, so I was just pacing back and forth waiting for him to get here.  I was so tired but my body would not rest.

So there you have it.  See why I could have gone into labor early yesterday?  I had a pit in my stomach from me driving home and then it finally went away, just to get riled back up because I was worried about Josh.  I actually did have Braxton Hicks contractions while I was at my Mom's but I had those with Chloee about this same time too.

Today I am going to sit around and just relax.  Yeah right, I still have to Christmas shop and Josh will probably sleep the day away!

1 Year Ago Today

I cannot believe that it was a year ago today, December 14th, that we moved into our house. It feels like that time just flew by and stood still all at the same time. We, and when I say we, I mean Josh, painted the house at the end of July. Yes, we didn't put anything up on the walls for about 9 months because we were going to paint. I HATED the paint in this house and it was just depressing to look at everyday. This was when I was throwing up a lot. My mom had come down and stayed with me for a few days after I got out of the infusion therapies I was doing, to help take care of me and Chloee. I ended up going home with her and as a GREAT anniversary present, Josh painted for me in one weekend, right before he left to go out of town for work on Monday. Also, a great big THANK YOU to Kathy, she was so sweet to come and help Josh paint on Saturday. He couldn't have got it done without you!

Before, yes, the house was totally trashed, I was out of commission for over 2 months so cut me some slack. I hated that hideous antique look she tried to do. Blah, just not my thing.

Much better. We decided to do the one wall green, which I think accents really well. Poor Josh had to seriously prime like crazy before to cover up all the sponging.

Notice how she just made her own line and cut off the paint between the front room and kitchen. What, you can't just do that in the middle of a wall.

Nice and seamless, same paint, imagine that!

Yeah, what is with the random stripes of red in the kitchen. Lance worded it perfectly when he said, "It looks like your ceiling is bleeding" and it did. This lady loved stripes, seriously every room has had stripes in it. Don't even get me started on what we are going to have to do to the baby's room.

All one color! Not super great light here so I promise the color really does look good.

The drywall had started to bubble around the end of the banister and Josh ripped it all off and had to redo it.

See how beautiful.

Ok, I really had to post this just so you could see how awful the paint job was. See how you can see where the roller actually stopped in multiple places. It was so uneven. I am really glad I don't have to look at it anymore.

Just one more of the pretty walls that don't make me want to hurl every time I look at them. Surprisingly enough, after the paint was done, I started feeling much better. Chance, coincidence, or whatever it was, I was very grateful for my husband who did all this just days before he went out of town for a week.

It feels weird to think we have really been here for an entire year. Many milestones have crossed our path in this home. We are hoping that during this Christmas break, we will be able to get the rest of the house in organization mode. I know sad, it's been a year but all in due time it will be done the way we want it to be.

Happy Birthday Kennet

Today is my cute little nephew, Kennet's 4th birthday! Yea! This picture pretty much describes him in all aspects of his personality. From the dinosaur undershirt, just underwear and what is probably Boyd's boots, this is so "THE KENNET" as Amy and Micheal put it. Sorry that we aren't coming down for his birthday party, Amy, but thanks for being so great and understanding about it, as you always are.

Chloee seems to think that Kennet is 24! Whenever he's here he says, "Now Chloee, Kai is 5, you are 2 and I am 24!" So there you have it, the best dressed 24 year old I've ever seen. I hope you have a great birthday Kennet. We love you so much and I hope you get to talk to your Daddy today on the phone! LOTS OF LOVE!!!

Just your average day... Oh, I mean NIGHTMARE!

Wednesday was a bad, bad day. The day had gone very wrong, all before noon! It was one of those days when you wish you had just pulled the covers over your head, resigned to the fact that the day was inevitably going to beat you down, take all the sanity you had left (as little as it might be) and leave you wishing that this year had only consisted of 364 days, taking out that horrible day, that really should be referred to as "your nightmare".

Things that went wrong:

-Glucose Test: Had to fast from midnight the night before and on an empty stomach drink 10 oz of pure, orange sugar in 5 minutes. Blah, I feel like I'm going to throw up anyway in the morning, let's just add to it with a big bottle of crap.

-Try to get the bear ready to go to the lab. Not really a fun thing to do.

-Go to get in the Pathfinder to go, oh, a flat tire. Crap. Now we really have to bust a move and get out of the house so we can make it in time to the lab for them to draw my blood exactly 1 hour from when I finished the drink.

-Switch car seat to Honda. Luckily Josh was here.

-Get to the lab 15 minutes early. They need to draw my blood at 8:15 am so we show up at 8 am, supposedly when they open. The hours 8-5 actually mean, "Whenever we feel like moseying on into work, so maybe 9 am or so to whenever we decide to close, which can and will probably be sooner than 5." We stand there and wait outside with some other people and the door finally opens at 8:10 am. The people in front of me go, I need them to draw it NOW, I refuse to do this thing over again. I tell the lady, she puts me in front of this guy, who is mad about that. She is going so fast that I'm not sure she isn't going to go all the way through my vein to my elbow.

-I almost pee my pants, I can't find a bathroom. Finally find one and Chloee has to come with me, great. Don't make it a little bit. Joy!

-Drive to McDonald's to hurry and get me something to eat. Josh drives to the first window where you pay, basically throws the money at her and drives off... WITHOUT the food. He's in such a hurry to get back to work, he just drives right past the 2nd window. Reverse, pick up food from laughing McDonald's worker and go.

-Go to Wal-Mart to get a can of air to fill up tire, so we can get it fixed. Josh is behind very slow people and is in there for 20 minutes, all the while Chloee is screaming in the car the entire time that she wants her Daddy now! Super massive headache for me.

- Get home, the can was not enough air, drive separate cars to Maverik to fill it up more. Josh goes to work, I go to the place that is going to patch it.

-I still want to throw up. Guy tells me it will be 20 minutes. Choee and I sit in waiting room, Chloee can't sit still, shock, I know. She wants M&Ms from the little machine, I get them out and she drops them all over the floor and proceeds to jump around and scream because, I somehow did that. Sure.

-30 minutes later, "Adams, you're done. We found this 3 inch screw in your tire!" Fabulous.

-I'm on the end of the county where Target is and I needed to go look for something specific, like a crazy person, I go. Chloee runs away from me and I can't find her. I can hear her laughing though, she can clearly see me but I can't see her.

-I had a 40% off coupon to Old Navy for just that day. It is only a block away from Target. Chloee goes crazy in the store. I'm decision impaired and I can't stand anymore trying to try things on Chloee so I sit down on the floor. Get lots of funny looks, on the verge of crying. Get up, walk around some more and realize I have a clearance sticker stuck to my butt.

-On the verge of falling asleep while driving, puking and want to just disappear. Go home and Chloee hits a 2nd wind and it takes her 1.5 hours to fall asleep, then I only get a little, tiny one out of her, of all days.

Okay, that's it. Probably doesn't seem so bad but I felt like someone had ran me over with a dump truck and then reversed and did the same thing over and over again.

Snowbird

We went to Snowbird this weekend. Josh's work has their annual Christmas Party, which is at Snowbird every year. We have dinner, entertainment and they also pay for a night stay at The Cliff Lodge up there. It is a fun and nice getaway! The entertainment was the same as last year, which was hilarious, so we were glad to see them again. It is a group called, Comedy Sports, from Provo. The guy that owns it and that travels with them as "The MC" has actually been on Comedy Central. He was so funny. We wandered back to our hotel room at 11 pm and didn't go to sleep until about 1 am. We both were so tired but couldn't fall asleep.

It was perfect timing for me and we really needed this getaway together. THANKS Mom for taking Chloee for so long. She still hasn't stopped talking about all the fun things you guys did together. I really appreciate the sacrifices you made to watch her. THANK YOU!

On a totally different note, here is a hilarious picture. Like Daddy, like daughter. When I woke up from our nap this afternoon, this is what I saw and I HAD to have a picture of it. Just too darn cute and worth the consequences I had to pay afterward... the monster being awakened from slumber... NOT JOSH, CHLOEE, but most of you probably figured that!

Festivities

My dad would be SO PROUD! We took Chloee to the city building on Monday night for FHE to sit on Santa's lap. We figured it would be a nightmare of thrashing and screaming but we were pleasantly surprised. She sat on his lap and continued sitting there while she told Santa what she wanted, which was "cookies". I think she's confused. Josh reads her a story about a little girl that leaves out cookies for Santa, so somehow I think she thought he was asking her what she was going to leave for him! Either way, I was so proud of her, and my dad would be SO proud. He's been wanting to see how she would be sitting on Santa's lap... well, here you go, no coal for this chick.

After Chloee's insane day/night of throwing up and trying to put me in an early grave, we decided to do a fun little craft tonight. We made a cute Christmas chain to help her count down the days until Christmas. She also has a little candy calendar that Grandma Kathy gave her, which she also loves. Every morning the first thing she does is ask to open another door on her chocolate calendar. Crazy girl!

O Christmas Tree...

We decorated the house yesterday. It was fun to pull out all of our Christmas decorations and go to town decorating EVERYTHING. We watched Home Alone 2 while we did it all. Chloee had such a blast, especially with the tinsel and ornaments. Here's how it turned out.

Isn't that thing huge and so pretty all lit up? I seriously have to fill up the tree stand with water a couple times a day.

This little fake tree got "the works" as well.

Josh put garland around the stair banisters and then wrapped lights around it. The house looks so cool with all the lights off and with everything plugged in. It feels like Christmas should be tomorrow with the way our house looks and smells... awh, pine!

My mom is making the baby's stocking. I can't wait until we get it so this display can be complete. Weird to think we are going to be a family of 4 here in a little bit.

We have lots of decorations throughout the house. We have mugs, crazy reindeer that I made when I was younger, cute little stuffed santas and bears, etc. Yes, I know we are obsessed with Christmas and decorating. That's the way we like it!

This says "Merry Christmas" in Portuguese. Josh always makes some great Brazilian treat every year at Christmas time.

That's it, I could post a million other pictures but I won't. After our little decorating escapade, we went out and looked at the lights that people had on their houses. Chloee was so fun, she would shout out, "Look Daddy, it's the lights, they're so gorgeous." I thought we were going to die laughing after she said "gorgeous". Where did we get this girl?
