Kennet's Rise To Stardom

Kennet performed in his class play.  He was a townsperson.  Stay on the road, stay on the road, always keep the road in sight.... That was a song he sang.  Such a cutie!!!!

Memorial Day

Why not climb all over Micheal's headstone?

Amy is holding her black rose for Micheal.  So morbid. :)

They put notes in the balloons to send off to Micheal... they only made it to the telephone wires.  Come on down, Micheal.  Lots of Love!!!

Sock Curls

Yep, done with JUST socks.  Nothing else.  She slept with 4 of Josh's church socks in her hair and voila... instant curls.  So cute!  Here is the link if you want to do them yourself.

Never Say You Could Never Do That... You'll Have To Shortly Thereafter

I really wish I would start blogging when things actually happen.  The feelings and emotions would probably be more real, rather than trying to write about it 2 months later.  I get so far behind that I don't feel like I can ever catch up.

We moved into our new ward, needless to say, it is weird.  It is ALL apartments with 2 houses in the ward.  One of the complexes is government assistance and the turnover rate here is like nothing I have ever seen.  Every week, 5 families in, 5 families out.  No one knows anyone, because everyone is new and the new people think that everyone else is being mean to them by not talking to them but in all reality, they are just as new.

I told my family that I feel bad for that relief society president because it would be the job from hell.  Visiting teaching alone would be a task beyond anything, also the ward is very needy and well, there are just a bunch of problems that would make that calling a near death experience.  That week, we had an appt to meet with the bishop.

You guessed it....  He called me to be the relief society president.  I set myself up for that one, didn't I?  We only lived in the ward for 3 weeks.  I didn't know anyone, let alone to be able to call a presidency.  Needless to say, it was a lot of praying and going to the temple.

The appointment was the night before my birthday.  It kind of ruined by bday.  I cried all night.  Couldn't sleep at all, I did lose 5 pounds  but only gained it back shortly, due to stress.  Why doesn't my body lose weight when it is stressed out?  I am the complete opposite.  Lots of crying and no sleeping to continue for multiple weeks.

I've been in for 2 months.  The welfare is so hard in this ward.  I am exhausted and from what I have heard, this is one of the neediest wards around here, as far as welfare and such goes.  Let's just say I'm sleep deprived and gaining weight.  Go figure.

Hopefully over time, it will get better.  I have to tell myself that or I'll cry, some more.

Amy & Micheal Celebrate 10 Years

On May 8th, Amy and Micheal celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.  Amy wanted to celebrate at her favorite Sushi restaurant, Kabuki.  Yum!  I have to say that I have never liked sushi but Amy has me hooked.  It was our 3 families, Alleman, Stauffer, Adams.  Here is Chloee and Jenny.

Kai looks so happy to be there.

Amy and Emily.  Amy is wearing her sophisticated glasses in honor of Micheal.

Chunky and Amy.

The ice cream was the kids' favorite part.

About one minute after this picture was taken, tragedy ensued.  Halle was mad at Josh, started throwing a fit and then slammed her eye, well her eyebrow, down on the granite countertop as hard as possible.  It was so bad.  She started holding her breath, then Josh was tying to get her out before she released the scream, she passed out and then wet her pants.  It was awesome.  Needless to say, she had a black eye for about a week.

We had so much fun, other than Halle trying to maim herself.  Amy flipped the bill.  Go figure that one out.  It's for her anniversary and she pays for everyone.  We were betting on the bill.  It was $300, yes that is right.  Emily guess much higher than that so when they brought it out, she said, "That's it?  That's cheap!"  Then as we all looked at each other and laughed, we all knew what she meant.  It was just funny to watch the waitress' face.

Thank you Amy for a wonderful dinner.  Thank you for thinking of us as your family, oh wait, we are.  We love you so much and I know that Micheal was happy to see you smiling that day.  Happy 10 and here's to New Zealand.  Lots Of Love!

See Ya, West Point

WE MOVED!!!  Most of you already know that though.  Our house went under contract in March and we moved on May 5th.  There were a lot of close strokes that happened in between contract and closing.  The appraisal, repairs, appraisal review that put the closing back a week, issues with their lender, issues with their  grant, almost didn't qualify to close... and the list goes on!

Honestly, it was nothing short of a miracle that it all panned out and we were able to close.  So many family and friends were praying and fasting for us.  The commute was putting Josh two feet into the grave and let's be honest, the gas was pretty must putting us in poverty.  It was long overdue and we are so happy that it all worked out.

Many family members and friends helped us move and pack.  So many that I can't even name them all.  I am so grateful for wonderful people in our lives who care about us.  Thank you to EVERYONE for all of the help.

We moved into our new humble abode.  It is a townhome in North Logan.  We are renting it.  For many reasons we decided to rent.  All the money lost on our old house, Josh's job is relatively new and we don't want to be locked into a house if the company doesn't do well and debt.  Simply to get out of debt.

It has been hard to go from a house for 8 years to an apartment but we are making it happen.  Sure, we feel kind of cramped but we are together and that is all that matters.  Josh works less than a mile from our house and we get to see him everyday at lunch.  This is a sacrifice that we have already been able to see the many blessings from it.
