Back at the beginning of November, we said goodbye to our dog, Koda. We got him when he was a puppy about a year and a half ago. We was a purebred and he was one big lab.
We came out on Halloween morning to find that he had completely ripped down one of our trees. We had been gone for most of that week so Josh left him out through the night because he hadn't been out of his kennel much. Evidently, he had to get out some of that pent up energy.
This isn't the first thing he's ruined. He has also ruined our tramp pad, we came home one day and he had completely ripped it all apart, there was foam everywhere. He ripped apart our grill cover, it was a nice and expensive one. He chewed up one of our girls' swings. He ruined and dug up our yard. He had already chewed out pieces from one of our other trees and Josh worked really hard to nurse it back to life. He chewed up the molding around the garage man door. I mean, I could go on and on. This was the last straw!

With Josh's commute, he is gone anywhere from 12-14 hours every day. He just didn't have time to play with Koda. He's still considered a "puppy" although size would say otherwise. He needs lots of play time and we just couldn't give that to him.
We put him on KSL and he sold in 5 days.

It was a hard decision for Josh but it was his decision. He ended up going to a family who had other dogs and live on a farm. We couldn't have picked a better place for him to go. He won't be stuck in a kennel all day, he'll have other dogs to play with and he'll have plenty of running space. Having him go to such a good home made it easier for Josh to say goodbye.
Although Koda did many, many bad things, he did do one good thing. I'm finally not afraid of dogs anymore. That was a life long fear. Also, my girls aren't afraid of dogs either. Granted, Koda was so big, he would knock Chloee and Halle over but they'd just get up, hit him and tell him NO! I'll miss that.

Yes, farewell dear Koda! We miss you, but not your tree-breaking habit of course! Have fun on the farm!
