Dad at his best

Josh was feeding Halle one night when he realized we had no clean bibs (there's a shock). So, what do you think he did? He made a nice make-shift bib out of a dish towel. Doesn't it look wonderful? Oh, which by the way she hated but she did leave it on.

This girl loves her food, that is probably why she is 7 months old and weighs 20 lbs.

Don't let this little grin fool you...

She's got personality, and it's JUST like her sister's!

Here is Dad entertaining the little fatty. Every time he takes her shirts off, he leaves it on her head and she thinks it's hilarious. He sat her up and he laid there while she just had the time of her life beating him in the face.

"Dad's not crying yet! I'm not content. I must beat him harder!"

There's a smile, but that wasn't until after she had poked him in the eye a few times and they were watering.

This girl is obsessed with her Dad. She loves when he comes home. She never would have let me do that whole make-shift bib on her or let me keep her shirt on her head but with Dad it seems to all be okay.

Salon Adams

Today we decided to paint our toenails. This is always quite an adventure, as you can only imagine. Painting toenails, fingernails, you name it... is one of Chloee's favorite things. After we are done she always says, "Oh Mom, we look so pretty. Don't you think?".

It was near impossible to paint this fat little chunk's toenails. She was screaming the whole time because I was restraining her. Shock!

Yes, Chloee DOES paint her own, every single time. I swear there is always more on her toes than there is on her actual nails. Don't you just love how she did 2 different colors? Normally it's about 5 colors, so I was grateful to only have 2.

Just in fair warning, I have hideous feet. Yes, I know I they are ugly. Why do you think I paint them? It makes them look a little bit more tolerable. We had fun though.

We always do the painting on the tile because usually Chloee spills some. Well, while I was painting Halle's toes and I was trying to be fast because she was screaming so hard, I just did it on the carpet. Bad, bad, bad idea. I knocked over the fingernail polish bottle and purple crap went all over the carpet. Great!

As I searched the house for something to clean it up with, I didn't find anything. We seriously have no carpet cleaner whatsoever. I searched and searched before I finally bit the bullet and called Josh. Here is how the conversation went.

Me: "Hey Josh, ummm.... I might have made a little bit of a booboo."

Josh: (scared to even ask) "What kind of a booboo?"

Me: "Well, I accidentally spilled purple fingernail polish on the carpet in the front room. I've been looking everywhere for something to clean it up with and we have NOTHING. No carpet cleaner, no solvent for stains, nothing. I'm so sorry."

Josh: "Well, why don't you just use fingernail polish remover?"

Okay, seriously how dumb am I? I can't believe I didn't even think of that. I felt so stupid. Obviously I am wasted and tired and I'm sure my brain is only functioning on 30% or less right now.

Daily Gems

My friend Jenni, sends me these emails that are the Daily Gems from the church. A lot of them are really neat. She sent me this one yesterday. It really stuck out in my mind and I wanted to share with all the rest of you. Enjoy!

INFLUENCES THAT ERODE FAITH
“First is doubt. . . . It comes from a lack of confidence in one’s self or abilities. It is inconsistent with our divine identity as children of God. “Doubt leads to discouragement. Discouragement comes from missed expectations. . . . Discouragement leads to distraction, a lack of focus. . . . Distraction leads to a lack of diligence, a reduced commitment to remain true and faithful and to carry on through despite hardship and disappointment. . . . This path ultimately leads to disobedience, which undermines the very basis of faith. So often the result is disbelief, the conscious or unconscious refusal to believe.”

Love Poems

My friend had this on her blog and I died laughing so I thought I'd share.

THESE ARE ENTRIES TO A WASHINGTON POST

COMPETITION ASKING FOR A TWO-LINE RHYME
WITH THE MOST ROMANTIC FIRST LINE,
AND THE LEAST ROMANTIC SECOND LINE:

1. My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife:
Marrying you has screwed up my life.

2. I see your face when I am dreaming.
That's why I always wake up screaming.

3. Kind, intelligent, loving and hot;
This describes everything you are not.

4. Love may be beautiful, love may be bliss,
But I only slept with you 'cause I was pissed.

5.. I thought that I could love no other
-- that is until I met your brother.

6. Roses are red, violets are blue,
sugar is sweet, and so are you.
But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead,
the sugar bowl's empty and so is your head.

7. I want to feel your sweet embrace;
But don't take that paper bag off your face.

8. I love your smile, your face, and your eyes
Dang, I'm good at telling lies!

What have you stepped in to smell this way?

Except for maybe 'Go to he!l.'

11. What inspired this amorous rhyme?
Two parts vodka, one part lime.

Memory of 9/11

(This is a picture of Micheal's flag. I took it at the memorial in Ogden back in July.)

I can't believe that it has already been 8 years since the 9/11 disaster. It means even more to me now, now that Micheal gave his life for our freedom. 9/11 feels like it has a whole new meaning to me. We are blessed to be in a country where we have freedom. The people who are against the war, are the ones who spit and ridicule our soldiers who come back from Iraq, the same ones who burn our precious flag. And they can do ALL of that because we are a country of FREEDOM. They can burn the flag because we are FREE. The reason they can do all of those horrible things to our soldiers and they don't HAVE to respect them (although they should), is because of those soldiers who have sacrificed SO much is the reason that these people even have the freedom to do and say as they please!

The other day I was driving around with the girls in the car while Josh was getting his hair cut. I went into a subdivision when I came upon a house. They had a big sign on the front door, it was written in little kids writing and it said, "Welcome Home Daddy!". There was also a big banner with flags all over it that said WELCOME HOME. They had flags in their front lawn. It was beautiful. I stopped and I started to cry. I pulled my car over and went up to their front door. I didn't know them, but I wanted to tell him thank you for his service and sacrifice and for all that he did for our country and our freedom. I was sobbing on their front door when I rang the doorbell. No one came to the door, they must have been out but I didn't care what anyone thought about me doing it. I want to make sure that our servicemen and women ALWAYS know that I am a thankful.

God Bless America! God bless the many families who are in the military and sacrifice so much for everyone in this country. Freedom Isn't Free! I am so grateful to live in the United States, who also fight for others freedom as well. Operation Iraqi Freedom, Micheal gave his life for that war. THANK YOU to the many people who give and continue to give during this war.

Life as I know it, IS OVER

Halle has started to scoot, which is only going to turn into crawling. Awhhhhh!!! This morning she was in the front room by the couch and I went into the kitchen to get Chloee some yogurt. I lifted my head to talk to Chloee and there was Halle, peering over the stairs. She was checking them out and getting ready to go on down them. I screamed and ran over to grab her. Seriously, it was like 1 minute in that amount of time. She made it there so fast it's not even funny. The stinky part about all of this is that our banisters and stairs DON'T line up. Some moron did a fine job of that. How am I supposed to put a gate up? Any suggestions, please share!!!

On a completely different note, Chloee said something funny this morning. She wanted me to go downstairs and watch Cinderella with her. I told her I had to shower because I had a doctor's appointment. She said to me, "Why? You don't stink to me!" she kills me.
