Grandma Gone Crazy

Last Saturday, Josh's Mom was running a marathon in Ogden so we decided to go see her come in. We went last year too and had frosting covered Animal Crackers there at the end for her. It was something that we had given her at the end of one of her other marathons, it's kind of tradition.
YES, SHE IS CRAZY.... this was marathon number 17 for her! Insane, I know. Here she is coming in for the last stretch.

Kathy and her sister, Ellen, have ran all 17 marathons together. They are amazing, if I do say so myself.

We have one from last year too of Chloee giving Grandma a kiss after her race!

Josh, Kathy and Chloee. She was just walking around afterward like it was no big deal that she had just ran 26 miles. I would have been passed out and the ambulance would have been on its way and they would already be loading me on the stretcher because I had keeled over and someone already tried to perform CPR but failed!

This was the sign that Chloee was holding up at the finish line. It was fun to just sit and talk in the sun and we all fried our skin. Grandma shared her treats with Chloee and they had a blast just sitting there with Chloee running into Kathy's arms about 100 times over.

Congrats Kathy, we are so proud of you!

SICK & TWISTED

Yesterday morning, Josh went out to feed Sam, but all of his food was still there. Weird! Josh went to work, I went out to see where he was and I couldn't find him anywhere. I finally hit the west side of the house and the gate was open and Sam was gone. NOT lost, STOLEN! The gate was still open and it was swinging IN, not out. If we had accidentally left it unlocked, it would have been swinging OUT from him pushing it to get out. Besides that, we checked all the gates that night before we went to bed.

Chloee is so distraught, she cries a lot. He was her little buddy. Who would steal from a child? Obviously, a sicko that has no conscious anyway! I called the cops and made them do a report on it, I called Animal Control, gave them the information on him, we put up 50 fliers last night. We put an ad on KSL and we are going to put it in the paper. We even have a $100 reward out there for him. We miss him so much.

Josh is beside himself. He had a hard time bonding to him because when he was a child, someone poisoned his dog and it just tore him apart. He didn't want the same thing to happen with Sam, but he got over it and bonded to him a lot. Sam loved him, they always played together. Josh wants to hunt down whoever did this and strangle them. I agree. Sam was like the son that Josh never had.

Our house is a sad, sad place right now. It's not like you can just go buy another one and they can replace the one you had. It's not like it was Chloee's bike they stole and we can just go buy a new one. He had a certain personality and we all bonded to him like part of the family!

Newest Editions

Yes, it is true. We got a dog. I know all of you who know me are thinking this is some joke, but it's not. I am terrified (that's an understatement) of dogs. When I was little, a dog bit holes through my top lip, therefore, I am horribly scared of them. When my mom told my sister, Annie, that we got a dog, she said, "Well, Hell must has froze over." Too funny!

Recently when I was at a certain place, they had this black lab there and I fell in love with him. When I came home, I told Josh that maybe we should get a dog. He jumped on that like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat. He's been wanting one forever but I always hated them.

We found this cute little black lab puppy in the paper and he's a pure bred. He was born on Valentine's Day and we've had him for about 3 weeks. We named him Sam. Josh has always said he wants to name one of our boys Samuel Adams. I say people will think of the beer, he says the founding father... blah, blah, blah.... Never going to happen, so that's the dogs name. We call him, Sambo, Little Black Sambo, Sammy and lots of other names that Josh calls him.

Chloee is still getting used to him. He's still in the puppy stage so he's crazy. He chews up everything, bites everything, jumps on everything. He's crazy. One day, Chloee laid outside with him for an hour on the grass next to him, just petting him. It was cute!

We got a tramp, wahooo! I love it with the enclosure. Without it, Chloee would surely already have broken one or many bones. That girl is so accident prone.

These are just a few of the latest things I have put up as decorations in the house. I got that star from The Weed Man, I've talked about him in earlier posts.

I FINALLY updated my photography blog. I hadn't posted since November. I only did a few and it is some of Micheal's funeral. If you want to look at them, the website is kimberleeadamsphotography.blogspot.com

From the mouth of babes..

Ok, so really from the mouth of Chloee but hey, either way it's pretty funny. That girl says the weirdest, funniest and oddest things. Here are just a few from the last few days.

*"Mom, Halle doesn't have a best friend but I do. My best friend is Nate. Halle can borrow him from me, that way she can have a best friend for a little bit."

*"When I'm 5, I get to ride a bus. When I'm 16, I can drive to Grandma's. I just can't wait!"

*"Mom, I miss Micheal. I didn't want him to die, but he did anyway. I'm sad!"

*(We were at the dr's office and in the waiting room, Mary Poppins was playing) "Dad, look Dad, it's Micheal. Look at Micheal. I thought Micheal was dead?" (Yes, she thought that Dick Van Dyke was Micheal. My Mom and I agree after talking about it that they do in fact look a lot alike.)

*"Take a chill pill, Hal!"

*(Anytime she sees ANY flag, she says...) "Look, it's Micheal's flag!" (All flags are Micheal's)

*"Holy crap Dad, it's snowing!"

*"Daddy, I can fix airplanes too!" (we tell her that's what Josh does for a job, it's easier than explaining what he actually does with the airplanes.)

*(in a complete and full out scream) "Mommy, you can't tell me what to do, I'M 3!!!"

*"Daddy, I can't put a wrapper on the ground or the cops will come get me and take me to jail."

Greater Love...

I wanted to put a tribute up in my house to Micheal. I love him so much and I miss him terribly. More than words can even begin to explain. He was an amazing man, husband, father, you name it. He was so much more than a "brother-in-law" to us. He was Josh's best friend, both of our brother, not "in-law" and they were the couple we did everything with. For crying out loud, when he was here for his 2 week R&R in January, we spent around 9 of the 14 days, at least, together, maybe even more.

I love this scripture and I think it pertains very much to Micheal and his great sacrifice. I ordered the vinyl from someone in my ward and put it right on the wall with this 11x14 picture of Micheal, someone who paid the ultimate price for all of us. I love you Micheal.

Thank you Amy, Kai, Kennet & all of Micheal's family for the great sacrifice you made as well. Thank you Micheal, you will NEVER be forgotten. Lots of love...

Long time, no post...

Wow, a lot has happened in my life over the last month, A LOT!!! I haven't posted in almost 2 months, I can't believe that. I haven't really been around either. Anyway, I just thought I'd write and say that I AM alive. What post is official without a picture? None, so I thought I'd post a pic of Halle. Anyway, we blessed that little sweetie yesterday so that post will be coming, hopefully sooner than later. Lots of love to everyone. Thank you for all of your love and concern and for all of your phone calls. It really means a lot to me!
