A Funny Story

Last week I was having a conversation on the phone with my mother-in-law and we were just chitty chattin about things and she had mentioned that she had to make some cookies that night for a friend.

Let me explain a couple of things about Kathy. First, she makes things from scratch, she is very passionate about chocolate and dessert is NEVER store bought. Second, she wakes up at 3:30 am to work out, so she is usually pretty tired come 8:00 pm.

Here is the texting conversation:

Kathy: (about 7:30 pm): Can you believe that I am 2 tired 2 make cookies?

Kimberlee: You can't lower your standards and buy them, you have to make them from scratch. You will ruin all that you stand for, and definitely make me think less of you! :)

What Kathy gets from Kimberlee: f you! :)

What Kimberlee gets from Kathy (who was forwarding what I sent her): f you! :)

Kathy: Did you see what you wrote me?

I check my sent messages and everything looked fine. I didn't think she'd be so upset about my little teasing episode about her principles and all that she stands for.

To sum it up, she thought I said f you and I thought she said f you to me. Here's how the confusion was made. When I wrote my text, it went into 2 different texts and just miraculously cut off on the "of you" and kept the o on the first text resulting in the second one just saying, f you! :) Can you believe that? Luckily she called me after she got the first part of the text and realized what has going on. We had a good laugh about us both thinking the other was ridiculously mad at us.

Just thought I'd share, I laughed for days about this. Sorry if you can't follow the mess that I just tried to explain. It was just too funny not to share! Good thing Kathy has a great sense of humor, that could have been ugly!

Girl Fun

Yes, I am unfortunately married to a hunter. You know what they say, "when the cat's away the mice will play", which is exactly what we have done!! Ok, so Thursday wasn't so hot, I spent all day at my mom's and I cried a lot. I hate when he leaves and so does the Chlo, it is heart wrenching to see how much she misses her "dada".

Amy and I went to a movie on Friday and saw "Dan in Real Life", starring the very funny, Steve Carell. It was one of the cutest shows I have ever seen. I have to wait FOREVER for it to come out on DVD, seeing as how Friday was the premier. Dang it! Mom was gracious enough to watch the chilins while we went out. We snuck in some burritos to eat and Amy had no problem pulling hers out and eating it in front of everyone and letting them get a big whiff of the wonderful smell. She is so funny to go places with, always a laugh fest!

After the movie we went to Macey's and got some delicious ice cream. Here we are stuffing our faces (except mom) and trying to stop our monkey children from diving off the railing. It was very eventful.

The toosh pulled all of my rings out of this jewelry box and put them all on her fingers by herself, she is such a big girl.

Amers was a sweetie she came over and slept at my house Thursday and Friday night. When Micheal got off work she came over which was usually some time after 11 or 12. Thanks for sharing your wife with me Micheal, you are the best! Micheal gets great perks working for Coke, this picture proves it!

It's 2 am, what else can I say?

"Aunt Mamy, take me around some more on the magic rug" Amy hauled her around on it and she just thought it was a hoot! WAY TOO EARLY in the morning, after 2 nights of not going to bed until 2-3 am and Chloee getting up early, we were and I am still wasted!

Loving it as you can see!

We went swimming Saturday afternoon. Chloee loved it and she loved playing with grandma in the pool. We had a lot of fun on the noodles and just splashing each other.

We had a fun 3 days but we are very glad that daddy is back, even more glad that he didn't return with anything. One night Chloee cried herself to sleep screaming for her "dada". It was very sad but we are glad it's over..... until the 1st week in November when he leaves again for business to Ohio. I'm taking this week to recoup.

Before the Hunt...

The night before the annual hunt is always a "treat"! Treat is emphasized and commonly known as chaos. Finding everything, packing everything, finding your tag and preparing for anything that "could" happen but more than likely wont (like getting a deer), makes for a very long night. We do have a little bit of fun amidst all the chaos.

This is known as "The Caterpillar". Josh pulls out his very nice mummy bag and thinks it is hilarious to get in and chase Chloee around like a caterpillar. The picture does no justice with out Josh's great sound affects and voice of the ever so scary caterpillar. Chloee is laughing as she runs away from him.

Oh, it is just too much!!! The caterpillar got her and is eating her. If you could see this done, you would absolutely die of laughter. I am still laughing just writing about it.

The caterpillar out of disguise. One thing I LOVE about Josh is he is not afraid to get down and play with kids, especially Chloee, no matter how ridiculous he looks. A great characteristic that I love about him. That is one I have always cherished about my dad, he really doesn't care what other people think or are saying about him. That characteristic makes the BEST dad, which I am very glad that Josh has too!!!

Get out your orange! She doesn't look so happy but hey, really what are my odds of getting her when she is happy?... Not great considering the 90/10 ratio.

Toots trying out her new coat. I love pink on her, wait, who am I kidding, I love her in all colors. It's a little big now but at least it will go for a couple of winters!!!

Tuckered Out

After a fun afternoon at Grandma's house, Chloee passed out when she got home. My mom was really sweet and offered to take Chloee for the afternoon so that I could do whatever I wanted and have some peace and quiet. Normally, I would have fought with her about it but after the awful week I've had, I made no arguments!

She played at Grandma's, beat up Matthew, made cookies, tried to eat the batter, ate lots of chocolate chips, I'm sure unloaded the pantry and wreaked havoc at grandma's humble abode. She is such a good sport to spend that time with Chloee, it was very much appreciated!

I went to the Temple and had to show the house again. I just lounged around and enjoyed the silence and then made dinner with out someone grabbing at my leg the entire time. I love her to death, don't get me wrong but it was a nice, quiet time to relax.

From what I hear, the pick up wasn't so great! Josh said that when he went to get her, she absolutely did NOT want to leave. She was screaming and trying to push Josh away so that she could stay. Oh, the joys of being at grandma's house, it is WAY more fun than your own!

I had to snag a picture of both of us while she was asleep. She can't fight and scream about it when she's sleeping. What a little angel!

The Last Night

On Friday night we went out to eat at Angie's. It was a lot of fun, of course Chloee isn't looking at the camera. "Hum, I wonder if their pancake mix is Krustez or if it is home-made?" Just kidding Kathy, I have to give you a hard time!

The waitress gave the kids little ice cream cones. As you can see, very clearly, Chloee loved hers. I'm sure the cold felt good on her gums.

Look at her snarf it down!!! She wasted no time at all. We were in a booth next to the window in the back and she just stared out at the cars. I think that was the best she has EVER been at a restaurant.

Getting ready for beddy bye time! Josh always pulls her shirt over and leaves it on her head, sometimes she thinks it's funny, sometimes, not so much. I guess it really depends on her mood, NO, that is such a shock with the Chlo, her mood changes on a whim????? News to me!!!

Chloee nestled her little face into grandma's neck and gave her BIG hugs and kisses before she went to bed. It was very cute to see her bond with grandma. It melts my heart every time I look at this picture because I know how much it meant to Kathy! (Chloee is just not a cuddly baby with ANYONE!)

Pumpkin Perfect

We went to buy some pumpkins to carve and paint. (Ok, I stayed home and got a break from the screaming Chlo while the rest of them went.) There were just too many to choose from! These 3 are so cute together. Rachael wrote a letter about how when she comes up to Logan she wanted to feed Chloee and sit by her and read Chloee her favorite book. It was so cute, I asked Kathy if I could have it and it is now on the fridge!

"Hum, which one should I pick guys?"

Let's see, Tyler's was a cool flame volcano with lots of red and yellow paint. As you can see, Kathy is carving it. Rachael's was a puppy dog, it was very cute too. I didn't get pictures of the finished products on either one of theirs. Bummer!

This is Josh's. Don't you think it looks like Sloth from The Goonies? He picked it because of its great nose!

Here's the "happy" family. I have about 3 pictures of Chloee screaming because she had to "sit" for a picture. Yeah, mine looks like a hooker, oh well, what do you do? Chloee is going to paint hers for family night, I will post a blog of hers later!

The Coolest Park Ever

Kathy, Ty and Rachael came up and visited for a couple of days. Unfortunately grandpa couldn't come, he was on business in Arizona. We missed you Gary! We did lots of fun stuff while they were here . We had to leave the house for a showing so we went to "the coolest park ever" as Tyler worded it.

Grandma catching Chloee as she came down the slide. It was so cute to see Chloee come down the slide and each time there was grandma waiting to pick her up and give her kisses galore!

That tongue says it all. She loves to go down the slide. Before she went down she would play peek-a-boo with grandma at the top of the slide. She thinks she is so funny!

Sir Laughs A Lot Tyler. We had one of Rachael above as Rapunzel but it ended up too blurry.

Wow, look at her go!

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly!

Wait, isn't that the title from a movie? Well now it is the title for Kimberlee Adams' Thursday from Hell!

THE GOOD:
A few days ago some girls from my ward that are on the x-country team came by and asked if we'd like to donate to their team. Seeing as how my dad is one of the coaches and I used to run, I felt like they came to see me for a reason. I bought 2 raffle tickets at $5 each. I guess the prize was a treadmill, that would be cool!!! OK, so I didn't win the treadmill but I did win 3rd place which was $30 to Firehouse Pizzeria. I was so ecstatic when my dad called to tell me I won (not rigged, just in case you think that sounds fishy). I came out $20 ahead, yeah I never win ANYTHING!!!!

THE BAD:
That time of the month, enough said! (Sorry for any pathetic man that is reading this and just got grossed out by that, blah and buck up.)

THE UGLY:
Chloee has molars coming through and one of them was scarred over with blood on top. Long story short, she fell off of the table (an every day occurrence for her) and slammed her cheek on the tile. Blood started oozing out and she's screaming, I'm on the phone with my mom screaming and I was a nightmare. It wouldn't stop bleeding and then I noticed that it looked like her tooth was chipped and digging into her cheek, it looked all sorts of messed up in there. I was freaking out and called this pediatric dentist in Providence and they were so wonderful and told me he could see me if I came in right then.

I, not caring about anything but getting there as soon as possible and stopping the bleeding, went with wet hair, stained pajama pants, an old shirt for pajamas, NO bra, no makeup, I mean the works. Not that I would have done all that before taking my screaming, bloody child to the dentist but Chloee was still in her jammies with blood everywhere and snot running everywhere from crying, we were in rare form when they saw us walk in that door.

I had to hold her hands and lean her back so that he could look at her. First, he thought it was part of her tooth too but come to find out it was a piece of skin so callused over on top of her tooth that when she hit the tile it flipped the skin over and shoved it into her gums. It was like a glass shard in her mouth jammed into her gums and shredding away at her cheek were it was touching it, hence all the blood. He pulled it out, I was bawling, she was bawling and there was a huge gaping hole left in her gums. It was not fun and she couldn't eat sweet, sour or spicy foods for 48 hours because of the hole it left. OK, that didn't end up being so short but it was an awful morning for us but we survived.

When we got home and I was still crying (I know, I'm a baby). I said to Chloee, "Mommy wasn't very brave today" and she shook her head and said, "No!" Then I said, "But you were brave weren't you?" and she nodded her head and said, "Yeah!" What? You have got to be kidding me? Oh well, she knew the truth, I was a mess.

We Did It ....... D&C is done!

Every night before Chloee goes to bed there is a routine that goes down in our house. First she gets bathed, lotion, jammies and then we read out of her little kid Doctrine and Covenants (usually a chapter a night) say prayers, brush teeth, fluoride, give mommy kisses good night, get baby to sleep with and binki and then daddy checks the closet in her room (with her) and says, "Oh the boogey man must still be on vacation, what does he work for the government or something?". Usually, it is something hilarious like that but it is adorable and then he puts her in her crib, turns on the humidifier, tucks her in under her blanket and she laughs, he gives her all his loves and then she finally goes to bed.

Ok, now that you got the ever so long run down of Chloee and beddy bye time, here is the whole reason to celebrate. Last night we finished the Doctrine and Covenants! It was a great accomplishment for the three of us, granted it was the WAY watered down version of it but now we'll get started on the Book of Mormon. She may not know what we are saying when we read them but when we say, "Let's read scriptures" she runs to where they are, picks them up and says, "scminture", ok it is so cute, it sounds like scripture. It's all about repetition, right?

An Excuse to Pig Out!

This General Conference weekend we went down to Josh's mom's house to make caramel apples. We did it last year around the same time and they are sooooo delicious. I don't have any pictures of the apples or of them being made but it was a lot of fun.

Chloee carried this doll around everywhere. It is Auntie Rachie's but she was good about letting Chloee take care of it for her. She strolled this baby around the table, in the front room, all over the place and when she even got mad at it, she threw it down the stairs in the stroller. Oh, what a good mommy she is. I know what you're thinking, "Hum, I wonder where she got that idea?" Well it wasn't from me, we don't even have stairs!

Don't let Aunt Rachael see her in there, she told her not to sit in it, she is too big. Which is totally true but I HAD to take a picture of her in it after she threw some other doll out of it! Isn't she going to be the best big sister?

Grandma let Chloee play her piano. It was cute seeing the two of them playing it together. Chloee absolutely loved it. There was another picture of Chloee and Grandma cooking a big breakfast together but seeing as how I am such a nice person (and I know that Kathy would kill me, because she said she would) I decided to leave that one out! :)

Chloee and Aunt Rachael. I thought this was just an adorable picture. Chloee wanted to play with Rachael the whole time and with Rachael's toys. They are very cute together.

The adventurous 3, ok so we are missing the essential #4, Chandler. This is Chloee, Rachael and Tyler all with their fingers in their mouths, more than likely Chloee's idea! We had a lot of fun this weekend and most of us got sick from eating so many sweets. It is always fun when we can all get together. Thank for everything you did Kathy & Gary, we had a great time!
