It's Late, I Know...

I REALLY WANTED TO DO THIS BUT OBVIOUSLY WITH THE MOVE AND NO INTERNET IT WASN'T REALLY POSSIBLE. SO, HERE IT IS, LATE BUT STILL FUN TO DO.

Here are a few things that I love about Christmas...
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I love to wrap presents but if the shoe fits and I am lazy enough, then the gift bags work great!

2. Real tree or artificial? Growing up, always artificial. Since I have been married, ALWAYS real. It is a very big deal to Josh to have a real tree. Christmas is so special to him and I love how passionate he is about having a real tree. I love the smell of pine when you walk in the door. We almost didn't have one this year, thanks Gary for being so sweet and bringing us one from SLC.

3. When do you put up the tree? Usually the day after Thanksgiving but with the move in the middle of everything, we didn't get ours up until December 18th. Sad, I know.

4. When do you take the tree down? Usually around the 10th or so of January but this year it has to go like today. In the midst of all the chaos here, we forgot to give the tree water and is now a nice fire hazard.

5. Do you like eggnog? Not until this year when I actually gave it a try. Josh mixes his with milk to make it last longer and so that the taste isn't too strong. The things he gets from his mom, just kidding Kathy. He loves it though!

6. Favorite gift received as a child? My parents gave me a life size doll when I was little. Oh, how much I loved her, her name was Krystal. It wasn't even a present I asked for.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? No, we want to get a big one but he have to save up for the one that Josh wants.

8. Hardest person to buy for? I would have to say the absolute hardest person to buy for is definitely my father-in-law. I would say it would be a toss up between him and my mother-in-law but I think he takes the bait.

9. Easiest person to buy for? My dad, by far.

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Can't think of one! :)

11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, I got them out early this year, with the move and all.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Not really a movie. My sister, Annie made a Christmas DVD a few years back of pictures of Christ and music by Amy Grant with it and I watch it every year.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Towards the first of December but this year I got it done a little bit earlier, once again, because of the move.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No, but wedding gifts are a whole different story. Christmas gifts are too personalized, I could never give it away because it came from someone I love.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Ham. Josh and I just started a new tradition. On Christmas Eve we made a big dinner with spiral ham and lots of other great stuff. I always remember us having ham and a huge breakfast Christmas day when I was growing up.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Colored, I can't stand when people think they have to doll their tree up to be a fashion statement and don't let their kids decorate it. It always seems that way when it is only white lights. Colored gives it more character.

17. Favorite Christmas song? "Mary Did You Know?" by Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? When we were first married, all we did was travel on Christmas and we hated it. We went to my parents (in the same valley) and then after a little bit we went to Josh's dad's house in American Fork, then to his mom's in Riverton. It was way too much traveling, it felt like we were in the car all day traveling and usually not in great weather. We stay home now and don't try to hit all 3 families in one day, it is much for relaxing and less stressful.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Of course, do you know my dad? He sings Christmas songs probably year round.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? We have an angel now but all growing up we had a star. Either one works for me.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? We open up one gift on Christmas Eve and then rest in the morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? I don't ever feel like people will be happy with the gifts we give them and I HATE when people cannot or do not say thank you. That just really, really bugs me. Especially after you spent a lot of time and effort into their gift and they can't say those 2 simple words. (Ok, I'm a little obsessive about this one)

23. What I love most about Christmas? My husband. He is so adorable about Christmas, he loves it so much. I love how into it he gets and how he doesn't care that the people at work make fun of him for listening to Christmas music. He loves having everything just so and perfect, he makes it all the more fun. He reminds me a lot of my own dad this time of year.

24. Do you buy gifts for your pets? No pets, but I'm sure we would if we had any. Actually, we gave Josh's mom's cats a Christmas present. Long story.

25. Have you ever been Christmas caroling? Yes, only once though.

26. Hot chocolate or hot apple cider? Both as long as they are not too hot.

I tag anyone who wants to do it. It's really fun to reminisce!

Still Alive!

For the record.... We are still alive. Well, I almost died not having the internet for the last 2 weeks. It was awful, I felt like I was shut out from the outside world and shopping.

Amidst the move and Christmas and Qwest not being able to get their behinds out here and do their job, we have been without the internet and I have so much to post. There is much to come but in bits and pieces when I can sneak a moment between taming my daughter and trying to get the rest of the boxes out of the house and to make it ours!

I just wanted to write a brief post to let you know that we are still alive (I'm so sure most of you were honestly wondering that). Like you have absolutely nothing else to do with your lives but wonder if the Adams family is alive and kicking! Well, we are!

Snowbird

We went to Snowbird this weekend for Josh's company party. They pay for a nice dinner, entertainment (which was hilarious) and a night stay at the hotel. It was really nice except for a few things. Bad, bad snow, very scary getting up there and my wonderful friend that comes to visit once a month showed up in the middle of dinner (that made for a very sick night)!

No Chloee screaming at the top of her lungs, that was nice but she was very much missed. Thanks mom for taking Chloee for 24 hours plus, we know she is a lot to handle. Actually, she didn't want to leave grandma's house, she screamed and threw a fit when we showed up and tried to take her. Oh, gotta love that!

We had fun overall. The food is SO expensive up there, breakfast for just the 2 of us came to $40. Ouch! Afterwards we went Christmas shopping and had fun together even though we were so tired from waking up at 6:30 am to the snow plow in front of our room and the avalanche thing they do. It sounds like a cannon or dynamite going off outside. We had fun and are very thankful for the chance we had to just be together.

I thought everyone would enjoy these next 2 pictures.

This is what happens to a man when you don't have cable, satellite or whatever at your house and the hotel does!!! I'm even taking the picture holding my hand out and he's thinking, "Hey, why not look at the TV, no one will know." Well, the picture doesn't lie sweetie!!!

Josh, after I scolded him about watching TV. Come on hon, give me 5 seconds. He was happy when shortly after this picture my batteries died and I couldn't take any more.

Bad, bad morning!

WOW, to top it all off, I just got done writing a 5 paragraph description of how awful my morning was and my stupid computer died and didn't save a thing. I picked it up to throw it against the wall (which you would have done after a morning like mine) but realized I was loosing it and gently but not happily set it back down with out shattering it into a million pieces. Seeing as how I don't want to write that all again, here is a BRIEF overview of what happened today that led me to wanting to destroy my laptop.

Chloee got up at 6:30 am instead of the regular 7:30 - 8:00 am routine. Chloee had shots yesterday for her 18 month check up, very ornery. I think, get a start on the day and make sweets. Chloee gets a hold of sugar, pours it all over the carpet, tile, her face and anything else you can think of. Me: mad as can be, Chloee: laughing hysterically. She eats the cookie dough (with raw eggs), very smart of me. Can you see my intelligence dropping as the time goes on? Chloee mad that I won't hold her and give her more dough so she takes the cinnamon sugar and dumps it on the floor. I suddenly realized that she is being very quiet. I look for her and she is on the counter in the spice cabinet. She dumps out whole cloves all over the floor. She is holding PEPPER and blows on it and it all comes up in her eyes. She screams, I scream. Her eyes instantly swell up. I'm trying to get cold water in them to get it out, she won't let me touch her. I am crying, call my mom and she says to hold her over the tub, try and pry her eyes open and put water in them so that it will flush the pepper out. What I do: hold Chloee over the tub, she won't hold still, trying to get water in her eyes instead accidentally drop her in the tub, water everywhere but her eyes. More screaming on both parties ends. Finally get her to open her eyes, she is mad at me and hits me profusely. I cry thinking, "what was I thinking trying to do all of this before 8 am". And thus the orneriness continued with Chloee and I until she finally went down for a nap at 10:00 am.

Oh, the joys of an 18 month old that just had shots, has no patience and a very good set of lungs. What was I thinking? What an awful way to start any poor sucker's day, especially mine!!!

Turkey Day

The night before Thanksgiving Chloee chowed down on a drumstick. It is so funny to watch her eat her "big people" food.

Getting ready to go outside on Thanksgiving and play. Once the grandkids got out there, they realized how stinking cold it was and marched right back in.

Chloee petting a dog that grandpa was taking care of. She would scream at the back door, "DOG, DOG, DOG!!!!!" She loved rubbing Vegas' tummy. Chloee definitely gets her lack of fear of dogs from her dad, NOT ME!

Grandma and the toots! Chloee and grandma did dishes together, played lots of games and let's face it, she will eat from her and not us! When Josh is chasing her around the house, who do you think she runs to? Not me, it's grandma that she runs to for safety.

Chloee talks about "Gran-pa" all the time, all day. Anytime we are in the store and see someone old and with gray hair, she says, "Gran-pa" and of course says it loud enough that they can hear but usually just smile at her. I'm sure she will LOVE Santa if she thinks all old men with gray hair are grandpa!!

We made sugar cookie turkeys. Ok, they started out as turkeys but ended up us doing family portraits. Top left is Josh, he looks good I know. Top right is me. Do you like my trendy bow? Bottom left is Chloee, it is supposed to look like her hair is in pigtails. Bottom right, Josh did this one and it is an angry turkey. Very cute, I think!!!!

Funny Stuff

As most of you already know, I love to post random pictures of Chloee. I have so many pictures and I love to share them. Of course I think everything she does is cuter than anyone else does but hey, isn't it supposed to be that way, I'm the mom!

Quite the little tap dancer.

The tap dancer dressed.

Dad being used as a jungle gym. Only one hand for help, she's pretty daring.

No hands.... See below for what happens next.....

Going Once, Going Twice... SOLD!

FINALLY!!! The commute has gone on way too long, the gas prices are killing us and we just want to see more of daddy. We sold our house and we couldn't be happier.

The buyers wanted to close 10 days after the offer, on November 20th. That clearly wasn't going to work for us seeing as how we have to find a house in Davis County now. Our settlement is December 14th and it's a cash deal, so hopefully everything goes smoothly.

We feel so blessed. We wanted to be in a new house for Christmas and not have to do any more winters through the canyon. Most of you already know about our 3 wrecks in 3 days, 2 of which were done in the SAME day last winter. Luckily the damage was all done to the same car.

Yet another plus about moving, I am not going to clean unless I WANT TO! Oh it will be nice to be able to leave dishes in the sink and not have to try and mop while Chloee is behind me licking up the water. YUCK! I am so excited I can barely contain myself!

The Incognito Chlo

Here she is undercover in her daddy's socks. Daddy put his on and seeing as how Chloee is his forever sidekick, she needed them as well. They fit perfect!

She is actually keeping some sort of hair piece in her hair. A total no no for Chloee, she can't let anyone know that she is really a girl.

A dress too..... oh my, she is really playing girlie girl today!

A cape, a dress, who knows what it is... maybe wonder woman! The wonder that is Chlo.

Wonder woman can't save the world without HER trusty dusty sidekick, the mom!

These were all just so funny, I had to post them. She is so funny and we love her very high strung personality. She keeps us on our toes 24-7, even when we are sleeping and she is talking to herself. Oh, we don't even want to think were we'd be without our little treacherous angel of a daughter!

7 Random Things...

I have been tagged by Amy Lou. Here are 7 random things that you may or may not know about me. I live a really closed life, so I am guessing that most of these will be surprises for most of you.

1. I have 3 other children with 3 different men. I can't really keep all the kids straight and which guy they belong to.

2. I am a closet smoker. Maybe that has something to do with why we can't sell our house?

3. In Vegas I am married to 2 other men, 1 since divorced but the alimony is great! How else do you think we can afford this 2 million dollar home that we live in?

4. Josh and I tell everyone that we met at Cabin Fever. The real truth is that I met Josh at a "club" ;) where I was performing that night and he got my number. So romantic!

5. When I was just 7 years old I was caught selling drugs to my other classmates. I tried to pass them off as smarties when I was caught. Can you believe it, a juvie record at 7! Mom was so proud.

6. When I was younger, my sister, Amy used to beat my bladder when I needed to pee. She used to grab my legs and haul me back down the stairs and beat me to the bathroom (only 1 bathroom in the house). She used to hold me down and make me laugh until I peed and then go and tell mom and I'd get in trouble. One time I actually tried to vacuum it up. It's actually amazing that we are as good of friends as we are considering the "sisterly love" she used to display towards me.

7. I am into S&M.

OK, maybe I took it a little too far but I bet you can't guess which one of these is the actual true one!!!!! No one left to tag, so if you are reading this and haven't done it yet, I tag you!

Halloween

Our very own little kangaroo. Old Navy, all the way if you want to keep your kids super warm! I love this on her, so cute!

The Devil, Kangaroo and the very scary daddy gorilla! What an interesting family! Hey, you know what they say, "the devil comes disguised as a beautiful woman". Just kidding!

Amy was a man. Her kids didn't even know who she was. She wore a three piece wool suit of her husbands and was even wearing his shoes. She looked great! Don't we look good together?

Amy (the man), Kai as Thomas (Amy made that getup) and Kennet, the rugby player. Josh tried to scare them when they came by wearing his mask, it didn't phase Kai but Kennet would have rather been with his man-mom (who he didn't even recognize) than even look at Josh's face.

The little Roo trying to get back up after she fell down. Oh, that tail is just too much for me. I'm glad Amy snapped this perfect shot.

Chloee used to be scared of the gorilla until she realized that it was always just her daddy under there thinking he was funny. She gave the gorilla BIG kisses!

We could all fight crime together. Mom as Jane of the Jungle, swinging from vine to vine to save the endangered species in HER jungle. Amy as a very interesting man that could pose as the Christian Bale stunt double (that's where all of the crime fighting funding comes from). Me as the devil, what can I say, I promote the crime, without me none of us would even have a job. I'm definitely a key player in all of this.

Matthew the ballerina! He makes quite the cute little girl. Don't you think?

The kids at great grandpa and grandma's house. They love to see the kids all dressed up and it was fun to visit with them.

Great grandpa Dale and great grandma Ruth. Poor grandma, she is going in for more heart procedures next week. She didn't feel very good last night.

Chloee just loved grandpa. Dad loves to scare the trick-or-treaters and he loves to feed Chloee. Last night Chloee would eat a chip and then feed grandpa the rest of it and so forth. She would only eat her sloppy joe from grandma or grandpa, none of this parent crap!

The very tired kangaroo. This picture is so priceless of grandma and Chloee. She had a rough day and was so tired and worn out at the end. She would get so mad because we would have to take the top off to ride in the car. That thing was huge, there was no way that she'd fit in her car seat with it on.

We went trick-or-treating at the mall yesterday with a neighbor friend of mine and her son. He is Eeyore. Chloee and Nate looked like they were both from some Winnie The Pooh story. Not planned but it was very cute!

Cute as a button, enough said!

A Funny Story

Last week I was having a conversation on the phone with my mother-in-law and we were just chitty chattin about things and she had mentioned that she had to make some cookies that night for a friend.

Let me explain a couple of things about Kathy. First, she makes things from scratch, she is very passionate about chocolate and dessert is NEVER store bought. Second, she wakes up at 3:30 am to work out, so she is usually pretty tired come 8:00 pm.

Here is the texting conversation:

Kathy: (about 7:30 pm): Can you believe that I am 2 tired 2 make cookies?

Kimberlee: You can't lower your standards and buy them, you have to make them from scratch. You will ruin all that you stand for, and definitely make me think less of you! :)

What Kathy gets from Kimberlee: f you! :)

What Kimberlee gets from Kathy (who was forwarding what I sent her): f you! :)

Kathy: Did you see what you wrote me?

I check my sent messages and everything looked fine. I didn't think she'd be so upset about my little teasing episode about her principles and all that she stands for.

To sum it up, she thought I said f you and I thought she said f you to me. Here's how the confusion was made. When I wrote my text, it went into 2 different texts and just miraculously cut off on the "of you" and kept the o on the first text resulting in the second one just saying, f you! :) Can you believe that? Luckily she called me after she got the first part of the text and realized what has going on. We had a good laugh about us both thinking the other was ridiculously mad at us.

Just thought I'd share, I laughed for days about this. Sorry if you can't follow the mess that I just tried to explain. It was just too funny not to share! Good thing Kathy has a great sense of humor, that could have been ugly!

Girl Fun

Yes, I am unfortunately married to a hunter. You know what they say, "when the cat's away the mice will play", which is exactly what we have done!! Ok, so Thursday wasn't so hot, I spent all day at my mom's and I cried a lot. I hate when he leaves and so does the Chlo, it is heart wrenching to see how much she misses her "dada".

Amy and I went to a movie on Friday and saw "Dan in Real Life", starring the very funny, Steve Carell. It was one of the cutest shows I have ever seen. I have to wait FOREVER for it to come out on DVD, seeing as how Friday was the premier. Dang it! Mom was gracious enough to watch the chilins while we went out. We snuck in some burritos to eat and Amy had no problem pulling hers out and eating it in front of everyone and letting them get a big whiff of the wonderful smell. She is so funny to go places with, always a laugh fest!

After the movie we went to Macey's and got some delicious ice cream. Here we are stuffing our faces (except mom) and trying to stop our monkey children from diving off the railing. It was very eventful.

The toosh pulled all of my rings out of this jewelry box and put them all on her fingers by herself, she is such a big girl.

Amers was a sweetie she came over and slept at my house Thursday and Friday night. When Micheal got off work she came over which was usually some time after 11 or 12. Thanks for sharing your wife with me Micheal, you are the best! Micheal gets great perks working for Coke, this picture proves it!

It's 2 am, what else can I say?

"Aunt Mamy, take me around some more on the magic rug" Amy hauled her around on it and she just thought it was a hoot! WAY TOO EARLY in the morning, after 2 nights of not going to bed until 2-3 am and Chloee getting up early, we were and I am still wasted!

Loving it as you can see!

We went swimming Saturday afternoon. Chloee loved it and she loved playing with grandma in the pool. We had a lot of fun on the noodles and just splashing each other.

We had a fun 3 days but we are very glad that daddy is back, even more glad that he didn't return with anything. One night Chloee cried herself to sleep screaming for her "dada". It was very sad but we are glad it's over..... until the 1st week in November when he leaves again for business to Ohio. I'm taking this week to recoup.

Before the Hunt...

The night before the annual hunt is always a "treat"! Treat is emphasized and commonly known as chaos. Finding everything, packing everything, finding your tag and preparing for anything that "could" happen but more than likely wont (like getting a deer), makes for a very long night. We do have a little bit of fun amidst all the chaos.

This is known as "The Caterpillar". Josh pulls out his very nice mummy bag and thinks it is hilarious to get in and chase Chloee around like a caterpillar. The picture does no justice with out Josh's great sound affects and voice of the ever so scary caterpillar. Chloee is laughing as she runs away from him.

Oh, it is just too much!!! The caterpillar got her and is eating her. If you could see this done, you would absolutely die of laughter. I am still laughing just writing about it.

The caterpillar out of disguise. One thing I LOVE about Josh is he is not afraid to get down and play with kids, especially Chloee, no matter how ridiculous he looks. A great characteristic that I love about him. That is one I have always cherished about my dad, he really doesn't care what other people think or are saying about him. That characteristic makes the BEST dad, which I am very glad that Josh has too!!!

Get out your orange! She doesn't look so happy but hey, really what are my odds of getting her when she is happy?... Not great considering the 90/10 ratio.

Toots trying out her new coat. I love pink on her, wait, who am I kidding, I love her in all colors. It's a little big now but at least it will go for a couple of winters!!!

Tuckered Out

After a fun afternoon at Grandma's house, Chloee passed out when she got home. My mom was really sweet and offered to take Chloee for the afternoon so that I could do whatever I wanted and have some peace and quiet. Normally, I would have fought with her about it but after the awful week I've had, I made no arguments!

She played at Grandma's, beat up Matthew, made cookies, tried to eat the batter, ate lots of chocolate chips, I'm sure unloaded the pantry and wreaked havoc at grandma's humble abode. She is such a good sport to spend that time with Chloee, it was very much appreciated!

I went to the Temple and had to show the house again. I just lounged around and enjoyed the silence and then made dinner with out someone grabbing at my leg the entire time. I love her to death, don't get me wrong but it was a nice, quiet time to relax.

From what I hear, the pick up wasn't so great! Josh said that when he went to get her, she absolutely did NOT want to leave. She was screaming and trying to push Josh away so that she could stay. Oh, the joys of being at grandma's house, it is WAY more fun than your own!

I had to snag a picture of both of us while she was asleep. She can't fight and scream about it when she's sleeping. What a little angel!
