The Latest and Greatest

Chloee's new, favorite thing to do is to "feed her baby". Yes, this is the same disgusting bear that was in a previous post. That is probably why his face is so dirty, she shoves it in green beans, pasta, whatever she's eating, you name it and the baby's face has been smothered in it. Here she is being such a good little sharer and giving baby some of her fries.

The latest battle has been baths. She HATES to have her hair washed and she is mortified of the shower head. In the above picture, you can see that Josh did a pretty good job by getting his own hair wet and showing her that he was not scared of the shower. That worked pretty good and also letting her hold the shower head helped.

If anyone has any advice that has worked wonderfully on washing your child's hair, please share. As long as your result didn't involve you with war wounds from your child, PASS IT ON!

Fabulous Friday

It all started when earlier on in the week we decided to go to the Elders Quorum party. They had dance instructors come and teach us some ballroom and swing dance moves. It was so much fun. Because of our 1' height difference, it was a little bit harder for us but nonetheless INCREDIBLY fun to do together. We laughed at each other, slapped each other's hands (OK, just me on that one) and just flat out didn't care what other people thought about us.

Afterwards we had brownies and ice cream. They even had a fun dance party for the kids. Chloee loved this! They sang the Hokey Pokey and that chicken song. It was a nice break and a great Friday night date!

Previously that day, to sum it up, it was one AWFUL day. Josh, being the sweetie that he is, brought me home a rose to cheer me up!

Chlo wanted to hold the flowers too! She thought is was funny to smell them.

Chloee and I also did a spa day and did our toenails and fingernails. She even let me put some of the decorative stickers on her fingernails and she said, "Oh, pretty!!!". It was very cute.

Good Find

I love the Pinching Your Pennies website as most of you know. Anyway, I found this great deal at Yves Rocher, it is a French company that sells only beauty care products. Check this out. These 8 bottles of beauty care shampoo and conditioner, only $7.50! That is right, they were only .93 cents a piece! WHAHOOOO!

Oh yes, and Chloee is sporting the free beach bag that came with it. Very cute!

The Biggest Loser

Call me a freak when it comes to this show but I LOVE IT! I have never watched it until this January. My mom is obsessed and would always tell me about it and one Tuesday night, I was at her house when Josh was out of town and that was all it took. ONE show and I was hooked!

I just have to comment on last night's show. Sorry if you don't watch this show but for those of you who do..... WHERE YOU SO EXCITED TO SEND DAN HOME???????? I was! I couldn't believe that those girls pulled it through with the number 1 and 2 spots. Dan was so cocky and arrogant it was disgusting. He thought he was so great because he could drop big numbers. Well, no kidding you are a 21 year old up against late 30 and early 40 year olds. His metabolism still works faster than theirs, fat or not fat! He thought he had it in the bag and that his "brothers" (gag me) would bail him out of his crap weight loss of 1 lb.

NO girls went home and the "brothers" sent Danny boy on his way. I just had to write my two cents in here. My heart was literally ready to jump out of my chest waiting for Kelly to weigh in and I almost started screaming when I realized she had made it above the yellow line!

The Guy

Josh has gotten Chloee watching Star Wars lately. NOTHING else exists. Her once loved Elmo and Sesame Street are but a distant memory to her. All she wants is "the guy". "The Guy" is Darth Vader. She will come up to me and say, "Awan watch the guy". She wants to watch the guy all day. She loves him. Sometimes his name is the guy, bad guy or mean guy. It makes me laugh.

Today as we were watching Star Wars, Yoda was about to die and I said, "Oh no Chloee, Yoda is going to die!!!". She simply answered waving her hand at the TV and said "Bye bye". It really made me laugh, which made my day. I love little kids' personalities and attitudes towards things!

HUGE EGG HUNT

We went down to Josh's mom's for a big Easter egg hunt on Saturday. NO JOKE, it was the most candy and eggs I have ever seen. The front and back yard was covered in candy, eggs, prizes and a golden egg with jing-jing in it!

Grandpa took Ty and Rach and the grand kids around on the lawnmower. They all loved it. Gary is so sweet, then afterwards he stayed outside and played with the kids on the swing set and slide for an hour or so. He is such a sweetie, I love him to pieces!

Chloee getting her "yewow" egg out from under a rock!

"Ummm... Tim's Easter present." Stacie is totally going to kill me for posting this but it is such a great inside joke, I couldn't pass it up!

Uncle Jake held baby Rhyder and kept him warm and comfy as everyone searched for eggs.

Rachael found the GOLDEN EGG. It had some cold, hard cash in there! No seriously, you know how much $5 is to a kid... heck, it's a lot to me!

This is Kenadi. I absolutely fell in love with this picture of her. She is so cute, she has the softest voice and you can tell she has a very tender heart! This is Josh's step brother, Chris' daughter.

All of grandpa and grandma's grand kids. Back: Kenadi, Aubrey, Rhyder, Chandler and Bobby. Front: Jordan and Chloee. It didn't turn out so fantastic. Just think 7 kids on sugar, wired and crazy, it looks good considering the circumstances.

Of course... she had to give "her baby Ryer" a kiss.

Easter SUNDAY!

As I sat in church today, one of the speakers said something that I really liked. He said, "We do not embrace the empty cross, but the empty tomb." I don't know if he was quoting someone or not, I did not hear that part, so I am sorry if I gave credit in the wrong place.

I love my Redeemer, who has done so much for me. I realized as we were singing the closing Hymn in Sacrament meeting today, which was 'I Know That My Redeemer Lives', how incredibly blessed I am. I love the words to that song, they make me cry every time. I wanted to share just the first two verses.

I know that my Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead. He lives, my ever living Head.
He lives to bless me with his love. He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed. He lives to bless in time of need.

He lives to grant me rich supply. He lives to guide me with his eye.
He lives to comfort me when faint. He lives to hear my soul's complaint.
He lives to silence all my fears. He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives to calm my troubled heart. He lives all blessings to impart.

I love all of it but in verse two, I love how it talks about our soul's complaint, to silence all our fears, to wipe away our tears, to calm our troubled heart and all blessings to impart. I LOVE THAT. I think of a time when I have felt any of these emotions and it is my Savior who helps me to get through it. What better person to turn to for comfort and help than our Savior and brother, Jesus Christ? What better person to turn to than one who has felt all of your pain and anguish in the garden of Gethsemane? He has done so much for us, it almost feels incomprehensible.

I know that my Redeemer lives!!!!!

Easter Saturday

When I was growing up and when Josh was growing up, we always celebrated the Easter bunny and the candy and everything on Saturday. We both loved it that way because the actual Easter Sunday is separated from everything else.

My mom ALWAYS gave us girls a new Easter dress. I wanted to carry on that tradition. Here is Chloee in "her" Easter dress. Did I mention I love pink on her?

She also got a new swimming suit. She needed a new one anyway. The last one I have for her is a 12 month and this one she is wearing is a 3T. Wow, she grew up fast!

I know this looks like a lot but it really isn't. I had already bought all of the clothes for spring because she doesn't fit in any of her short sleeved clothes anymore. She also got a kite, some fingernail polish, puzzles, some socks and a little bit of candy!

We took the kite out today. She loved it. Well... maybe Josh and I loved it a little bit more!

She loved the streamer on the back of the kite. Josh would try and get it going and she wouldn't let go, so the kite would fall to the ground. Seriously, we had to pry it from her hands to be able to fly it and the entire time she was screaming, "MINE". As if we had forgotten!

Chlo being Chlo. She is so nuts! Daddy took this pic of Chloee after she had put that hat on herself and was dancing around! What a cutie!

***We had a big Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Dodds' on Saturday, I will post that tomorrow!***

Brown Eggs

We dyed eggs on Friday night with Chloee. It started out fun. She loved watching the little color tablets dissolve in the vinegar.

Her favorite, of course, is "yewow". Yellow, all the eggs needed to be yellow.

She wanted to dye the eggs over and over! Even after they were done she was picking them up and putting them in different colors. Hence the reason that all of the eggs turned out brown. After they had been in every color about 30 times, everything comes out brown, just like her hands.

This what happens when Daddy tells her to not put all of the eggs in ALL of the colors. She was screaming, "Nooooo Daddddyyyyy!".

She would throw the eggs so hard in the cups, inevitably, one broke. But do you think that she thought she shouldn't be able to dye that one as well? No! That poor egg ended up brown too and with shells in all of the cups.

A BIG Event

This last Sunday was very eventful. We had a homecoming and a baby blessing. Josh's brother, Jake, had his homecoming, he just returned from the Donetsk, Ukraine mission. Also, Josh's sister, Stacie, blessed her little one, Rhyder. Josh had the honor and privilege to bless Rhyder. It is really neat because he was also able to bless Stacie's other son, Chandler. I know Josh feels a special bond to them both. He was so nervous but of course did a wonderful job.

Before church even started, Chloee got herself an ouwie! She was reaching for the bench in front of us for Grandma and she slipped, slammed her cheek bone on the Hymn book corner and then proceeded to hit the carpet with some good old rug burn. It was bleeding, she was screaming and you could only imagine the looks I was getting. Chloee overreacts so much, people probably thought I had cut her arm off from how loud she was screaming.

My ever so happy daughter.

How stinking adorable is his smile? You really have to work for one but once you get it, it was well worth it.

EVERYONE took their turn with baby Rhyder. Notice how much this one sleeps? He is so cute. Chloee is OBSESSED with him and that is an understatement. He is practically as big as her in the picture where she just HAD to hold her "baby Ryer". She always says, "Awan my baby Ryer". Translation: "I want my baby Rhyder".

Stacie, Kathy & Manda. I'd say, Kathy's girls, but Rachael isn't in there or me or Lisa for that matter.

Look at HOW CHUBBY those ChEeKs are! I love them!

I swear she is always screaming. "Don't touch me. Don't take my picture. Don't make me EVER do anything that I didn't come up with on my own." I'm sure these thoughts are constantly crossing her mind.

The kids playing Memory. Jake was so great to help and play with Chloee. He is INCREDIBLY patient with her and her orneriness.
